Sensory Kits: A Hit for All Ages!

I discovered the world of sensory kits/bins/play fairly recently, and it has been a game-changer! If you're newer to this concept as well, sensory kits usually center around a theme (construction, ballet, ice cream, cars, farm, etc.) and include a variety of little trinkets and fun items. Most full kits include some sort of dough as well. Children can create an infinite number of variations to arranging the items and being creative!

When I our first kits from Sensationally OT, it was so much fun to watch as my kids instantly began playing! They couldn't resist all of the different manipulative and creating little scenes.

The most incredible thing to me was that ALL of my children, ages 12 down to 21 months, LOVED the kits! Because sensory items are chosen intentionally, it makes sense that there would be a soothing/satisfying effect. I also really love and appreciate any activities that don't involve screens/electronics.

I loved the kits so much, I wanted to look into other companies as well. We've now had fun with kits from Young + Wild and Friedman, and I found MANY sellers on Etsy who have adorable themes! Messy Kids offers both "messy" play kits as well as sensory bins.

Many companies have subscription packages, which would make the perfect gift that truly almost anyone in the family would enjoy!

There are countless themes to choose from, and I have found myself browsing the different bins for quite some time! If your child (or the child you're shopping for) is interested in something, I promise there's a bin/kit for it!

Here are a few fun finds:

The typical age recommendation for sensory kits is older toddler/preschool, but I can vouch for the fact that almost ANY age will have fun! It's a can't-miss gift, especially in the younger age-range. Plus, it's great to support small businesses and do what we can to cheer each other on in our endeavors.

Enjoy many hours of playing and using imagination together!
